2007 APHA (American Paint Horse) Offerings - October 1, 2007

Marlin Neidhardt and wife Maureen and sons Clint and his family, and Colt have actively raised American Paint horses for nearly 40 years. Our emphasis has always been on Black and White paints and the concentration of this color choice has genetically reached almost 100 percent with many of our foals now carrying over 10 generations of black and white breeding. When we have a foal born that is buckskin, palomino or occasionally sorrel it is because another bloodline has been introduced through outside blood.

We are offering more horses than usual with our 2007 offering for several reasons.

#1. We have been in an extreme drought in Northwest Nebraska for several years and 2007 has been the most severe.

#2. After being in the business for this many years we are ready to take a new look at our operation and have determined that we will raise less in terms of numbers but concentrate highly on the individuals and their training. Expect to see the best of the best from the Rare Breeds Ranch Paint horses emerging as these quality, colorful, well-muscled horses with good heads and necks and great minds are offered to the public through private treaty sales. As they are trained they will become available to go to work for the reasons that horses were created in the first place. You will find horses for your riding enjoyment, trail, pleasure, etc. but also stock horses that will do great at general ranch work and there will be those that will be specialized on in roping, barrels, ranch horse competition and much more.

A set of these Rare Breeds Ranch broodmares will give anyone serious about breeding quality paint horses a great start. You can bypass all of the years of breeding that we have put in and have a consistent set of mares that will niche with your choice of stallion to put uniformity to your foal crop as well. These mares are all proven producers and there is not a cull in the bunch.

Probably due to the fact that her sire MNS Buckshot Leo (Buckskin Tobiano) had an affect on her color. This is a really pretty mare with lots of body and she is a good mother. A very pretty, always shiny black color. Queen of Dakota, her dam, was a mostly black overo mare with a very good head and one of our 'Queens' going back to Weiscamp bloodlines.
